At the end of each year former US President Barack Obama shares his favorite songs list for that year and 2023 wasn’t any different. Released on Friday, December 29, 2023 this year’s list features 28 songs that have been on repeat in his music playlists all year.

Notable artists featured include Victoria Monet, Burna Boy, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Shakira, Tems, Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 6lack, and South African superstars, Tyla and Musa Keys.

Tyla and Musa Keys On The List

Tyla has had an exceptional global imprint with her breakout single “Water,” which has put her on tables and stages we never imagined that a South African could dominate.

From bagging a Grammy nomination, rubbing shoulders with Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, and Khalid, to performing on huge US TV shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Voice US and more, Tyla took the world by storm.

Musa Keys has also had an amazing year with his feature on Davido’s “Unavailable” which Rihanna recently picked as one of her top 2 songs of 2023, the other being Tyler ICU’s “Mnike.”
