How far is too far? Today, Netflix released the emotionally charged teaser for Marked, an explosive 6-part series set to premiere in July. Fuelled by necessity, not greed, Marked tells the story of crossing moral lines out of love and fear when the system leaves good people with no good choices.

Babalwa (Lerato Mvelase) is a law-abiding cash-in-transit security guard, a devoted wife to Lungile (Bonko Khoza), and a loving mother to Palesa (Ama Qamata). But when they receive some devastating news about the treatment of Palesa’s life-threatening illness, Babalwa’s carefully built world begins to crumble.

With nowhere left to turn, Babalwa makes a bold and desperate choice, enlisting help from her trusted colleague, Tebza (S’Dumo Mtshali), and reckless newcomer to the criminal underworld, Zweli (Sphamandla Dhludhu). As plans unravel and betrayal surfaces, Babalwa is forced down a dangerous path far beyond the moral boundaries she’s always lived by.

Backed by a powerhouse ensemble, Marked features some of South Africa’s most celebrated screen icons, including Jerry Mofokeng, Mduduzi Mabaso, Natasha Thahane, Gaisang Noge, Linda Sokhulu, and Desmond Dube, each delivering gripping performances that add depth and tension to the story.
