The biggest podcast in Africa and fast-rising in the world, Podcast and Chill, has made another entry in the history books on a worldwide scale. Recently, we celebrated its 1 million subscribers milestone and today we celebrate them becoming the first podcast in the world to have over 8,000 attendees at a live podcast event.

The Rise of Podcast and Chill
Podcast and Chill released its first episode on July 18, 2018, shot using an iPad with bad-quality audio. From its humble beginnings, 5 years later, various podcast episodes are now produced daily using world-class equipment, with a full-time employed exceptional team, while its YouTube channel boasts 1 million plus subscribers and 300,000 average video views per episode.

What MacG and the podcast team have achieved is black history and black excellence as the host himself always says when celebrating such milestones. The Podcast and Chill 1 Million Subscribers Celebration event took place at SunBet Arena located in South Africa’s capital, Pretoria, and was a 100% sold-out event! Chillers (fans of Podcast and Chill) from all parts of South Africa and neighboring countries came in huge numbers to celebrate this huge milestone with the Podcast and Chill team.
Ghost Lady Finally Revealed
Amongst many other things, many Chillers were looking forward to seeing Ghost Lady’s face for the first time after years of only knowing her voice behind the scenes. Ghost Lady was indeed on stage in the flesh at the event, we saw her body and heard a voice that we have fallen in love with but sadly we still didn’t see her face as she was wearing a balaclava.
As visible above, Chillers had all their phones out hoping Ghosty would take off her mask at some point but she didn’t. Based on the small part of her face that was visible we are now certain of how she looks based on the facial features of a Khanyi we suspected that she is the Ghost Lady.

MacG Proposed To Naledi
After many years together, through their ups and downs, and the birth of their 2 children, the Podcast and Chill host, MacG finally bent the knee and proposed to his lover Naledi who gave him a big YES in front of thousands and thousands of Chillers who attended the 1 Million Subscribers Celebration event in Pretoria!
This was one of the big moments and highlights of the event which even the social media streets have been endlessly talking about. It was even more beautiful and cute when their oldest child, Ziggy, couldn’t hold back his excitement and was celebrating this precious moment with his parents as they hugged each other.

Performances At The Event
We saw amazing musical performances from Makhadzi and Robot Boii as well as stand-up comedy from Celeste Ntuli, Eugene Khoza, and Mpho Popps. One of the headlining musical performers whom many chillers were also looking forward to was Kabza Da Small but he did not pitch up for his performance as he was out of the country.
