Tems Cancels Rwanda Show Amidst DRC Conflict

Tems, the Nigerian singer-songwriter, has decided to cancel her concert scheduled in Rwanda due to the ongoing conflict between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This decision was made after Tems realized the severity of the situation, expressing that she had no prior knowledge of the conflict when she initially promoted the show.

She apologized for any insensitivity and emphasized her hope for peace in the region. The conflict in question has deep roots, involving ethnic tensions, political rivalries, and the fight over control of valuable natural resources in eastern DRC. Rwanda’s involvement has been accused of supporting rebel groups like M23, which has escalated tensions with DRC.
