She’s known for her unique blend of pop, R&B, and amapiano—a South African genre she’s helped popularize internationally, earning her the nickname “Queen of Popiano.”
Her breakout hit “Water,” released in 2023, became a viral sensation, hitting the top 10 in multiple countries, including the US, UK, and South Africa. It was the first song by a South African soloist to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years and won her the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in 2024, making her the youngest African artist to win a Grammy at age 22.
