On February 2023 we woke up to devasting news and videos of AKA’s assassination Durban. The #RIPAKA hashtag has been trending every since due to the police’s silence regarding the murder investigation.
Five men have allegedly been arrested for the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane. Many pictures and videos have been circulating on social media of the police apprehending the suspects. Comparing the suspects to the hitmen on the video there has been a lot of doubt if it is them.
Plainclothes police officers arrested three suspects at an ATM inside the Erica Square mall in Belhar. Two other suspects were arrested in a different part of Belhar. The suspects had been under surveillance for two weeks by detectives from the Durban Organized Crime Unit.
Right now we are waiting for a statement from the police as they have been silent. Many murder cases have gone unsolved and we hope this one won’t be another one.
