Launched in July 2022, Kiddies Republic, an elite children’s clothing brand owned by Lekau Sehoana has closed its doors. The Drip footwear founder, released a press release detailing some of the difficulties he had been facing with the brand.
This came as a surprise and sad news for many people who were inspired by Lekau’s journey and assumed all his brands were doing well. In the press release he did mention that Kiddies Republic is in no way affiliated with Drip and he is only liquidating Kiddies Republic.
Business liquidation is when a company is unable to pay its debts by application of the creditors; or a voluntary application by shareholders of a company or members of a close corporation (commonly referred to as a creditors’ voluntary liquidation).
Lots of friends, colleagues and partners took to the socials to share words of comfort and encouragement with him including Cassper Nyovest, Khaya Mthethwa, and more!
