Podcast and Chill, the biggest podcast in Africa and one of the fast-rising in the world has attained 1 million subscribers on YouTube ahead of its “1 Million Subscribers’ celebration event at Sun Bet Arena in Pretoria on July 30th. The podcast’s first episode was published on July 11, 2018, and exactly 5 years later on July 11, 2023, we celebrate “black excellence and black history” as MacG always says.
The Rise of Podcast and Chill with MacG
Podcast and Chill founding host, MacG, worked with various team members over the past 5 years from co-hosts, Ghost Ladies, all the way to the various teams behind the scenes who have been fundamental in attaining this huge milestone.
At the very beginning, MacG co-hosted the podcast with Lenn Moleko who later left, and Solphenduka joined the podcast as the new co-host along with Ghost Lady (Khanyi). This trio with the support of the team behind the scenes such as Fact Checker took podcasting to a whole new level!

What’s Next For Podcast and Chill?
From high-end audio and visuals to top-notch delivery and consistency, it was undeniable that Podcast and Chill would one day get here and in the next few years if not months, it will be charting in the Top 10 worldwide and all podcast genres.
We can attest to the fact that Podcast and Chill did not have the easiest journey achieving this huge milestone, but as a result of resilience and undying support from the chillers even at the hardest times, Podcast and Chill goes down in history as a pioneer in the African podcasting space.
Having started with just one show, well known as the ‘Monday Episode”, in early 2019 MacG introduced Celebrity Edition which features conversations and interviews with South African celebrities, public figures, media personalities, politicians, and more!
The Monday episode (Podcast and Chill) is an all-rounder show of current affairs, hot topics, pop culture, opinions, and just catching up amongst the hosts. Below is a detailed video on how MacG really became the biggest podcaster in Africa.

One of our favorite shows on the platform besides the Monday Episode is POPCORN AND CHEESE hosted by Mpho Popps and Robot Boii. Even on the most horrible day, you are guaranteed some laughter from these two hilarious hosts. Other shows on the Podcast and Chill Network include ONSIDE hosted by Lenn Moleko, Dineo on SEX n Stuff hosted by Dineo Ranaka, and a few more shows which have not been as consistent.

Although Podcast and Chill is sometimes controversial, one thing that cannot be taken away from it is the number of lives it has changed and the careers it has revived. From celebrities, to businesses and the podcast team members themselves, this platform has transformed a lot of lives.
