Who Is Ric Ko?
Born Erick Letha, better known as Ric Ko is one of the smoothest artists we have ever heard or discovered in Zimbabwe. Majoring in rap, he no longer boxes himself in one genre which is the new norm for many artists around the globe and explains the different sound of his latest single “Ngiyak’ khumbula” featuring Asaph Afrika and Branden Cruz.

“Ngiyak’ khumbula” Song Breakdown
“Ngiyak’ khumbula” is a romantic song, a collaborative piece by hardcore rappers showcasing another side of them which is contrary to what we know of them, easing down to matters of their hearts and storytelling while giving us a little bit of their rap cadence.
Ric Ko kickstarts the song telling his lover that he misses her and is busy grinding so they can get to comfortably spend their lives together. Asaph follows up reminiscing about how his lover makes him feel and all the beautiful memorable times spent together. Branden Cruz closed off the song with the energy of a proud man in keeping his partner smitten.

“Ngiyak’ khumbula” was well received in Zimbabwe and neighboring countries following its perfect timing of release during the globally celebrated month of lovers, February. Lots of existing and new fans took to socials to big up the artists further ignited by Ric Ko and Asaph’s radio interviews on Khulumani FM and NUST FM.
What’s Next From Ric Ko?
In response to a few questions we put to him, Ric Ko said the music video for “Ngiyak’ khumbula” is coming up next and he has a guest verse on one of Brintz’s upcoming songs.
The song will officially be launched on the 2nd of March 2024 in Plumtree, Zimbabwe through a Toundtainment hosted event supported by Babongile Sibanda, Man Q, DJ Yugoe, PRO, Big Q and Macasette.
