About two years ago in February 2022, the Duffer Brothers announced in an open letter shared to fans that Stranger Things season 5 will be the last season of the Netflix hit series. Filming of this last season has begun and here’s everything we know.

Stranger Things Season 5
With filming of the much anticipated season 5 of Stranger Things now underway, fans around the world were thrilled by this announcement. This will be the final season, which we believe will have a lot of jaw-dropping and heartbreaking moments.
Will played by Noah Schnapp will take centre stage in season 5, according to the Duffer brothers and Noah himself in an interview with Variety.

Season 4 Ending
Stranger Things season 4 ended with Brenner dying in the dust of the desert leaving a heap of trouble behind from his experiments on psychic kids which led to Eleven zapping troubled youngster Henry Creel into the parallel dimension of the Upside Down years ago, where he became season 4’s demonic villain, Vecna.
On the other end, Jim, Joyce and Murray were trying to escape a brutal Russian gulag with the help of duplicitous former guard Antonov (aka Enzo) and madcap smuggler Yuri. Episode 9 opens with Jim and Joyce facing the same problem as Eleven, Will, Mike, Jonathan and Surfer Boy brochacho Argyle: They have to get back to Hawkins before Vecna kills again and opens a fourth gate to the dark dimension. Steve, Nancy, Robin, Dustin and Eddie Munson tool up to infiltrate the Upside Down and stake Vecna in his coffin, while Lucas and Erica enter the terrifying Creel mansion to offer Max as bait. In the series finale, only the Hawkins kids (and Kate Bush) can save the world.

Season 5 Cast
The majority of the main cast were still alive at the end of season 4 and present in the final scene of the season. Based on this the main cast will definitely return for the upcoming season 5. The returning cast includes Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Noah Schnapp (Will), Priah Ferguson (Erica), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Maya Hawke (Robin), Joe Keery (Steve), David Harbour (Hopper), and Winona Ryder (Joyce).
